Preheat oven to 180°C

Place the chopped dates with baking soda in the hot boiled water and stir well. Cover the bowl and set aside for 20-30 minutes or until the dates become soft.

Mix the butter, sugar and vanilla flavour until soft and fluffy. Add in eggs one at a time and beat until fluffy.

Pour in softened dates (with hot boiled water) in the mixing bowl. Then, add in Dr. Oetker Nona Self Raising Flour and Dr. Oetker Instant Oats. Stir the mixture until well combined.

Pour the batter in a greased baking pan and bake at 180°C for 45 minutes.

For caramel sauce, place all the ingredients in a sauce pan and boil for 3-5 minutes (stirring constantly) or until the mixture well dissolved and becomes little viscous. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the cake.
