Matchsticks Cookies

Create a fun themed matchstick treat, by adding coloured sugar sprinkles for a fantasy flaming effect, to a chocolate coated cookie stick.

For the recipe Matchsticks Cookies

For Cookies:

1 box Dr. Oetker Nona Cookies Original Butter
50 g Dr. Oetker Nona Corn Starch
150 g Butter (Soften)
1 Egg (Large)

For Decoration:

200 g Dr. Oetker Nona Cooking Chocolate
Dr. Oetker Nona Hundreds & Thousands




Place Dr. Oetker Nona Cookies Original Butter, Dr. Oetker Nona Corn Starch, butter and egg in.


Preheat oven to 180˚C.


Roll the dough on a floured surface to 0.5cm thickness. Using a sharp knife or pizza wheel, cut the dough into strips measuring 0.5cm wide by 5cm long.


Place the cut-out cookie sticks on the prepared baking tray and repeat with remaining dough.


Bake the cookies for 10 minutes and set aside to cool.


Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. While the cookies cool, melt the chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler, stirring until smooth.


Dip the completely cooled cookies in the chocolate and garnish with assorted sprinkles or toppings.


Place the dipped cookie sticks on the baking sheet and allow the chocolate to set until it's fully hardened. Remove the cookie sticks from the baking sheet and serve or store in an air-tight container.
